HYDRO/LOGIC is an interactive, durational installation developed by visual ecologist, Aviva Reed, in collaboration with scientists, consultants, planners, landscapers and local residents of the Melbourne Water Catchment.
It aims to identify what is most useful within science, water management and social systems when responding to a drying climate. Encompassing ‘dry lab’ sessions (exploring the data) & ‘wet lab’ sessions (creative response), HYDRO/LOGIC will build a visual map of Melbourne’s aquatic systems over the course of the residency.
Aviva Reed will provide a series of works that will be added to through a community collage process. She will facilitate both lab sessions, ultimately bringing together the results in a large format illustration, to be exhibited at Docklands Exhibition Space. Lab sessions will draw on both emotional and data generated through GIS mapping and current research, taking the form of data research, round-table discussions, interactive workshops and collaborative drawings.
HYDRO/LOGIC is open during all opening hours of the Gallery at Library at the Dock
