The Queen Victoria Market is aiming to increase public awareness on how quick, easy and cheap it is to use simple ingredients to prepare delicious and nutritious meals with food that would otherwise go to waste and therefore reducing individuals’ waste and impact on the environment.
This tour is perfect for those wanting to learn how to reduce their food waste and begins by visiting the Market stall holders to find out what food they will be throwing away if it’s not sold that day. The food is taken back to the public demonstration kitchen to show the public two simple quick recipes they can do at home with these ingredients.
A free organic coffee and tasting samples will be provided. Don’t forget to bring your re-usable coffee cup!
Tour led by Jessica Alice: The self-titled “Nigela Lawson” of leftovers. Penny pinching and budget meals are off Jessica’s menu, and she will have you completely rethinking your leftovers. Jessica shares her passion for cuisine and the art of making leftovers the hero of any dining table on her weekly cooking shows or at her limited private workshops.
