Andrew Kelly, the Yarra Riverkeeper, will speak on the impact of climate change on the Yarra.
This talk will take place on the riverbank in the City of Yarra and will discuss the Yarra River’s key role in the biodiversity and resilience of our city.
The river cools the city, waters the trees that provide shade and reduce the heat-island effect.
Birds, animals and plants retreat to the river when the temperature rises and the earth dries.
People also retreat to the river to seek a cooler environment.
Andrew will also speak about the vital Yarra River Protection
